Este curso está diseñado para personal del Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad (ICE) que deseen ampliar sus conocimientos y competencias en las diferentes disciplinas (técnica, financiera, legal) de de la gestión y regulación del espectro, tanto a nivel nacional como en el contexto internacional . El curso cubre el contexto general y los objetivos de la gestión del espectro y su realización práctica en una estructura multidisciplinaria a nivel internacional, regional y nacional.

This five-day training course is primarily based on the ITU/World Bank digital regulation platform and the ITU FCDO universal access and service financing efficiency toolkit with a focus on the following aspects: digital transformation strategies, regulatory governance, evidence-based decision-making, regulatory sandboxes, competition and economics (market analysis), infrastructure sharing and universal access and service financing efficiency. 

The online IoT course applied in rural areas is a comprehensive program focused on understanding and implementing Internet of Things solutions in the agricultural context. Participants will be introduced to the fundamental principles of IoT and explore its potential via data collection, device connectivity, and sensor application for optimizing agricultural processes.

This course aims to equip professionals with in-depth knowledge and practical skills to manage emerging threats and vulnerabilities in digital infrastructures. The curriculum explores governance and covers policy development, ethical standards and regulatory frameworks in cybersecurity to ensure organizations’ compliance with the latest threats, risk assessment methodologies, and security best practices.

This course will provide participants with an introductory exposure to the world of policymaking and electronics producer responsibility in the area of e-waste management, bringing together key learning materials based around the underpinning legal, financial and administrative components of well-functioning e-waste management systems.

This course helps policymakers understand the size and drivers of the mobile gender gap in low- and middle-income countries and provides insights and recommendations on how to improve digital inclusion for women.  

Delivered from the perspective of a small state and targeted at Director-level and above candidates from Forum of Small States (FOSS) countries involved in digital policymaking, this training course will share policy, regulatory and economic development approaches to digital transformation for a digital ready future.
