As countries ramp up digital transformation efforts to tackle complex challenges, digital public goods (DPGs) and open-source technologies have emerged as promising tools that the public sector could leverage to fulfil their mandates. This course provides government officials and policymakers with a comprehensive overview on DPGs and open-source technologies, including their importance in enhancing service delivery, fostering innovation, and promoting sustainable development.

Data is crucial in policymaking, public service delivery, and development, informing decisions regarding program design, resource allocation, and the evaluation of interventions. Despite its potential, governments and policymakers risk not capturing the full value of data when there are no clearly defined processes and rules for how data is managed within and across institutions. Establishing and implementing a data governance framework can ensure transparency, accountability, and public trust. 

This course focuses on technical, business and regulatory aspects of Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data and Artificial Intelligence (AI). It covers Internet technologies for IoT, then IoT standards, architectures and interoperability, as well as IoT policies and regulations, including IoT security and privacy issues. The course includes IoT services in 4G and 5G mobile systems, including massive IoT and critical IoT use cases. The IoT generates large amounts of data that cannot be processed by traditional techniques, and such data is referred to as Big Data.

This course focuses on technical, business and regulatory aspects of 5G mobile networks. It includes mobile broadband evolution, and LTE-Advanced-Pro as transition of 4G towards 5G mobile networks. It covers 5G network architecture, which is based on network slicing approach, 5G New Radio (NR) and 5G Next Generation core with network functions and software based architecture.

This online course aims to equip national and local government authorities with the necessary knowledge and skills to foster a techn ical understanding of the telecommunications sector, specifically focusing on wireless infrastructure deployment. Through an exploration of regulatory and fiscal aspects related to permitting approvals and processes, this course provides a holistic overview of the key principles essential for promoting investment in connectivity and bridging the digital divide.

This course is designed to help educators better understand the risks related to Online Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (further - OCSEA), and how the educational environments can be used to prevent children from harm associated with OCSEA.
